Google Friendconnect Drupal module not recommended (yet)
Heine Tue, 2010/01/12 - 16:01
The Friendconnect module on code.google.com is not suitable for use on production sites. My message to the 36 people who've already downloaded the module:
Test on a local site only!
I'd rather have posted this as a comments on Bertboerland's Friendconnect story, but his server ran out of steam.

Indeed.

At least, if Google developers (?) would have taken this usual challenge, then their code would possibly be usable by now.
There is an application
Submitted by Heine on Tue, 2010/01/12 - 17:49I just found the application for gmaurol [gmaurol] from December 29, 2009, but it has not yet been processed. And yes, it would only have passed after some cleanup.
WTF
Submitted by Dave Reid (not verified) on Tue, 2010/01/12 - 19:19http://drupal.org/project/friendconnect already exists. Original Google developer Muthu knew this and agreed to move development to drupal.org. Now another project comes in and doesn't know anything about the previous project.
Odd indeed
Submitted by Heine on Tue, 2010/01/12 - 19:28Yeah, odd indeed. Also, the version on d.o. has proper @var substitution in the debug watchdog, and passes messages to formbuilders in a normal way. From the CVS messages it seems that these versions diverged after the move to d.o. and errors were introduced later.
number nine?
Submitted by Dabitch (not verified) on Wed, 2010/01/20 - 12:29I know. I was one of them, but then my aim was just to play with it and see if I liked the idea/where it was going. Didn't deploy on a production site. :))
